July 2016

The Bennies recently wrapped up their Wisdom Machine Australian tour in Maroochydore on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. Two weeks and 15,000 kilometers later they were playing a festival in Berlin, Germany. It’s indicative of the work ethic for the Melbourne band who have earnt a reputation for not only hard partying but heavy touring

Catch The Bennies pack out dance floors this June and July, supported by Poison City label mates Clowns, who are also fresh from European tour dates. Also along for the wild ride will be Perth punk-rock trio Axe Girl and Bombs are Falling.

The Bennies

With fast hi-hats, bouncing bass lines, face melting leads, filthy synth sounds and surreal delayed vocals, The Bennies craft witty, memorable punk songs, and deliver them with a balls out attitude. Over the past three years the band have performed non-stop, playing over 300 shows across Australia, New Zealand, China, Japan, Singapore and Malaysia. And its been through this relentless touring, that The Bennies have carved a reputation as one of the country's most exciting live acts.

Since 2010, Melbourne's four piece hardcore punk hell-raisers, Clowns, have wreaked havoc upon stages and floors around the world unleashing their ferocious, sound of old school hardcore punk with tweaks that uniquely make their sound, their own. Combining a vicious base layer of punishing punk rock combined with influences that range from 77' punk, to underground Australian rock, as well as thrash, doom, noise and powerpop all loaded with chaos, energy and fun. Clowns really know no boundaries in regards to leaving punters stoked that they left their couches and came out to see them at a show.

Axe Girl

Perth darlings Axe Girl are the turkey basted love children of Cindy Lauper, Gwen Stefani, Debbi Harry Chrissy Hind. Their primary influences are pizza and Netflix, but they also get pretty excited by other stuff. With hints of The Preatures, The Strokes and The Yeah Yeah Yeahs their raw punk rock energy and poptastic hooks are infectious. Expect rainbows, fireworks, unicorns and baby dragons at every gig. In their short but roller-coaster existence Axe Girl have played several festivals including Astor Rocks, Hidden Treasures, WAMi, SOTA, SxS Wilson, WA Pride and supported the likes of San Cisco, Spiderbait, Meat Puppets, 28 Days, Dallas Frasca, Felicity Groom and The Love Junkies. Axe Girl reckon they are the luckiest band alive as they get to tour with their favourite band The Bennies. They are releasing their annoyingly addictive brand new single Yoko to celebrate.

Bombs are Falling

Bombs Are Falling is a fast and explosive skate punk band formed in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne. The band brings an exciting brand of high energy, aggressive punk rock fuelled with lyrics of personal uprising, progressive ideas and the need for change.
